Presidente Santos ordena la inclusión de población con discapacidad en censo 2018
Una acción de tutela presentada por algunos miembros del Consejo Nacional de Discapacidad, una petición elevada al DANE como iniciativa ciudadana y firmada por cerca de 40.600 ciudadanos solicitando revertir la decisión de omitir las preguntas, y una contundente campaña en redes sociales, sirvieron para que se revocara la decisión de dejar por fuera del censo 2018 las preguntas que servirían para la caracterización de la población con discapacidad.
Hoy 3 de Enero con un trino en su red social Twitter el presidente Santos anunció que dio instrucción para que la población con cualquier discapacidad sea plenamente incluida en el censo nacional.
Desde las organizaciones de y para personas con discapacidad, aplaudimos esta decisión presidencial que claramente reitera la importancia de este grupo poblacional, y ofrecerá la oportunidad en el corto plazo, de crear programas y emprender acciones para mejorar su calidad de vida .
Solo nos resta esperar para conocer a fondo los instructivos del censo que nos permitan orientar a la población con discapacidad, para impulsar una participación masiva y pertinente.
